The Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) is the foreign intelligence agency of India. RAW was established in 1968 following the intelligence failures of the Sino-Indian War, which persuaded the Government of India to create a specialised, independent agency dedicated to foreign intelligence gathering;[ previously, both domestic and foreign intelligence had been the purview of the Intelligence Bureau.RAW Headquartered in New Delhi, R&AW's current chief is Samant Goel. R&AW maintains active collaboration with other secret services in various countries. RAW contacts with FSB of Russia, NDS, the Afghan agency, Israel's Mossad, the CIA and MI6 have been well-known
